About Namegrain
A grain is a seed.
A name is a beginning.
We work where the idea becomes a company: pre-seed, seed and the next chapter beyond. The customer gets clearer. The ambition gets bigger. The identity needs to catch up.
One grain.
The whole identity.
A grain is small, but it contains the whole plant: everything it needs to become what it is meant to be. A good name works the same way. It is one clear starting point from which a complete identity can develop—position, voice, mark, colour, typography and the surfaces your next go-to-market actually needs.
Namegrain connects naming, domains and design into one considered transition. Not a logo bolted onto an old name, and not a name chosen in isolation from the address and the system around it. One decision, made coherently, for the company you are becoming.
Principles we
work by.
Start with the company
Identity work begins with the business change that makes it necessary—not with internal fatigue or a funding announcement as an arbitrary deadline.
Names have to travel
A name is said far more often than it is seen. We test how it behaves spoken, written and searched, in the markets that matter, before it becomes a commitment.
The address is part of the brand
Name and .com are considered together so introductions, email and search all point the same way—without letting the domain make the decision for you.
Evidence, honestly labelled
We build on observed choices in startup naming, and we publish the limits of that evidence alongside the figures. Patterns inform a brief; they do not replace judgement.

The journal collects our practical guides on rebranding, domains, testing and briefs. The research notes set out exactly what our figures can and cannot tell you. The brand worlds show five directions a single grain can grow into.
